Hersheypark, located in Hershey, Pennsylvania, opened in 1907 as a leisure park for the employees of The Hershey Chocolate Company. Today the park has over 110 acres and over 60 rides and attractions. Park admission also includes entry into “ZOOAMERICA”, an adjacent zoo. Also on the property is “Hershey’s Chocolate World”, a company visitors’ center open to the public and featuring shops, restaurants and a chocolate-themed ride. “Chocolate World” and “ZOOAMERICA” are accessible from outside the park boundaries. “Chocolate World” is free admission.
The park features 10 roller coasters, including “Roller Soaker”, where each car holds 16 gallons of water that can be bombed onto riders waiting in line, while water cannons on the ground can be used to spray coaster riders; “Great Bear”, an inverted steel coaster; and 3 wooden coasters including “The Comet”, which opened in 1946.
With over 60 rides and attractions, Hersheypark has something for every age. Traditional amusement park rides can be found in the “Midway America” section. “The Boardwalk at Hershey Park” is a tribute to the legendary beaches of the Northeast including Atlantic City, Ocean City, Coney Island, and Rehoboth Beach. The Boardwalk features five distinctive water attractions, including “East Coast Waterworks”, the largest water play structure in the world! All Boardwalk attractions are included as part of the one –price admission.

Dorney Park is one of the most popular amusement parks on the East Coast and is a popular recreational destination for residents from Philadelphia and New York City, both of which are less than 90 miles away. The park, located just outside of Allentown, Pennsylvania, features a large number of roller coasters and children’s rides, and features one of the largest water parks in the country, Wildwater Kingdom.
The park features 9 roller coaster including steel coasters “Hydra the Revenge”, “Steel Force” and “Laser”. “Thunderhawk” is the park’s world-class wooden coaster.

Kennywood Park began in 1898 as a trolley park that catered to local industrial workers and their families. Originally built at the end of a trolley line to encourage ridership, the park began to generate more revenue than the trolley business itself.
The park is locacted near Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, in the borough of West Mifflin. Kennywood ranked second in the category of “Favorite Park” in Theme Park Magazine’s 2004 Reader’s Choice Awards.
The park features thirty-one major rides, including three water rides, three classic wood coasters, “Phantom’s Revenge” steel coaster, and a one-of-a-kind indoor coaster,the “Exterminator”. “Kiddieland” offers 14 “just for kids†rides. Plus, the park offers 40 games, seven gift shops and two arcades! Kennywood is also famous for their fresh cut french fries at the “Potato Patch” stand.
Entertainment includes the “All American High Dive Show”, the “Celebrate America Festival”, an early July event with craft booths, parade, and fireworks and Fall Fantasy Parades which run from mid August thru September.
Kennywood is one of two amusement parks listed in the National Register of Historic Places. It is also one of the few amusement parks that still allow guests to bring their own picnic lunch into the park.
