The absolute best place to eat hands down is definitely Aunt Sarah’s Pancake House just as you cross the state line into North Carolina in Roanoke Rapids. It is connected to a Comfort Inn which I have stayed at during my many trips to Florida. Both places are comfortable and reasonably priced, and as far as food for breakfast , lunch and dinner Aunt Sarah’s offers everything from homemade country breakfasts to cousin johns fried chicken for dinner. The service friendly and attentive. Aunt Sarah’s and it’s adjoining Comfort Inn show you the true meaning of southern hospitality. Five stars in my book.

We travel north every year from Florida and we always stop at Aunt Sarah’s Pancake House. I think it is the little kid in me but everything I have always ordered there has been great… just like home cookin’ and the staff ladies and gentlemen are super! It is the atmosphere and the food and the little penny candy in the barrels that we like makes us feel little again. We stop every trip and recommend that you do also. You won’t be sorry. It is a treat. Anything you want with a beautiful smile from all the southern ladies and gents. We love it.
I haven’t been to Aunt Sarah’s for years! I was searching the internet to see if it even still existed! Well I found this and I think this is it! We used to stop here with our five children when they were small on our way from Ohio to Disney WOrld. Loved Aunt Sarah’s! Took a picture of my daughter by the sign because her name is Sarah and to this day I sure don’t know what happened to that photo- sure would like to have it! Alot has happened since we used to come this way- I now live in Florida and work at Disney and when I go home I fly on the airlines so I never get to travel this road anymore! But always loved Aunt Sarah’s Pancake House- always looked forward to eating there on our vacations! Kids loved it too- they always had the waffles! Good food!
Stopped there last year(9/08) a sign taped to the door said closed for renovations. Stopped by last week for breakfest, sign on door said they were only open for dinner. Are there any others along I-95?
We used to stop at this one all the time in our travels to Myrtle Beach… apparently the closure is permanent as we drove by last summer and everything was boarded up.
We used to go to Myrtle Beach every spring with our kids and never missed Aunt Sarah’s. They have the best key lime pie I’ve ever had. Now my kids are grown and I can no longer travel, but would love the recipe to make for my kids and grands.
sincerely
