Take the Winstead Avenue exit and make a right on Sunset Avenue. Just a few minutes from 95, exit 138. Gardner’s BBQ Restaurant was delicious.

We got the lunch buffet. 2 adults – $7.99 each and the kids ate free. It costs us the same at McDonald’s and was much better. The fried chicken was the best I’ve probably ever had. The mac & cheese also a big hit. They had pork and turkey Q, turkey with gravy, potatoes, sweet potatoes, greens, salads, cobblers, desserts and of course sweet tea.

I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone needing some home cooking on a long ride. open daily 10 am – 9 pm

Young Plantation has a new store located just off of I-95 exit 164 in Florence, South Carolina. They have an in store bakery (with fresh breads, pies, and cakes), awesome sandwiches, ice cream, and a full range of pecans and southern specialty foods. Check it out! Their number is 843-662-2452

Take I-95 exit 156 then drive 3 miles west on FL 512 to Fellsmere, turn right on “Broadway” and it is just a couple hundred yards ahead on the left. This restaurant is well worth the extra couple of miles.

Marsh Landing is located in a restored 1926 Land Office, that was once a Sugar company HQs.  This is a genuine Florida “Cracker” (cowboy) restaurant with local favorites like frog legs, gator tail, swamp cabbage soup and fried green tomatoes, home cooked fried chicken, plus the usual restaurant seafood and steaks.

Food here is reasonably priced. I have never had a bad meal there.
